It was a pretty good one, to be honest. He had to play on the blue from every red and always got perfect on it.

I didn't think he would. He's the underdog here and has Griffiths in his corner to help with any nerves. ROS hasn't played great all tournament either, so it's not as 1 sides as people believe.

      • Well, that session was a pleasant surprise.

        • A complacent player in a specific year has never won the world championship title that very year before.

          • Great stuff from Barry, lovely break in the 4th. He really has nothing to loose here because nobody expects him to win.

            C'MON BAZZA!!

            The fast and the furious,
            The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Yep, that was a good break around the blue . . .

              2 - 2

              : )
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
              I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

              • I don't believe Ronnie will crush Hawkins, I think it'll be rather like last year. He won all the 4 sessions but only by one or two frames, 5-3, 5-4, 5-3, 3-1.

                • dare I say it but Ronnie looks under pressure more today than any other time in the tournament. At the moment Hawkins long potting and safety looks much better than O'Sullivan and the more these frames go messy the more O'Sullivan tends to lose his rag.

                  • Just had a look on twitter - virtually every player is supporting Hawkins. Must be a popular guy on tour? Either that or ROS is hated.

                        • Already fed up with some pundits and commentators righting Barry off before the final even started ! For me the more pressure will be on Ronnie and Barry has nothing to lose. I for one would love to see Barry win the title for the simple fact that i think for someone to take 11 months away from the game to come back and win would just be ridiculous and would show how the other players haven't got better. Also like the 1966 world cup we would not hear the end of it especialy from the likes of Denis Taylor and Virgo and that muppet Willie Thorne.
Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

I agree...Ronnie not looking like he's bulging with the confidence he had in earlier matches...so far. And Barry is looking strong and calm. Go Barry!

People often love the underdog winning . . .

I think this is selective memory. At one stage, I think against Carter, Ronnie's pott success rate was in the mid 80's. He hasn't played well - one great session against Bingham, but even that one had Bingham leaving Ronnie in, in 6 of the 7 frames (as Bingham himself says).

If you took away the name + face of ROS, we'd all be saying he's been decent at best. Because it's ROS he gets hyped though.
