I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when the white lifted so far off the table! Amazing session by Trump.

      • Poomjaeng takes a thrashing, 13-3. I'm gonna be rude but he'd better have lost the first round, everybody would've had a good laugh and normal play would've resumed. Tthat match was rather painful to watch.

Wow! Really? That's incredible...so now could be his time right?

He is through to the quarter final and a good chance of progressing to a semi final! Who knows...Michael White in the final against Murphy (or Dott). I would definately settle for that

Nah I'm glad he got to beat the nr 4...great win for him, and a nice pay day as well...don't forget the significance of that for the lower ranked players. But...I agree with you on that Poomjaeng should have focused on his snooker from the begining and not play to the crowd so much. He beat himself in the end for a big part. Lovely guy though and I wish him the best!

I really dislike Trump's exhibition type snooker he always feels that he has to produce at the end of a frame...don't care for it one bit. 'Don't believe the hype!'

                • I'm starting to remember what Trump is about. More exhibition type snooker please! And I'd much rather see PoomJaeng's antics than miserable Maguire.

Yeah at some point he should have realized how wonderful of an opportunity he had to reach the quarterfinals of a world championship, playing against an unseeded player. Entertaining the crowd is great, enjoying every second is great too, but you can do it and give everything on the table at the same time, what obviously he didn't make. Fair play to Michael White, he was too strong for Poomjaeng overall and he kept cool to finish the match off when he had the opportunity. He'll be a tough nut to crack.

As long as he does the work when it matters then I will continue to enjoy it.

                      • I don't see how anyone can dislike Judd for doing exhibition shots - it's entertainment. The same way footballers will fancy tricks, how occasionally tennis players will pull out a shot between the legs when they don't need too. I'm not a huge fan of Trump, but he's exciting and that's what the game needs.

I have a feeling the winner will come from him or Selby this year. Before the tournament I couldn't decide between those two or Robertson but obviously the latter has gone.

Also fancy Carter to pull an upset on ROS.

                          The fast and the furious,
                          The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

                              • I don't know if we can call it an upset, expectations are high on Ronnie but don't forget he hasn't competed for about one year. I wouldn't be surprised Ali knocks him out, but what a story it would be if Ronnie wins the championship.
