I have noticed, over the last season (maybe a bit longer) that Trump has been more courteous to the opponent than he used to be, as he never used to hold his hand up and never used to tap the table to acknowledge the opponent's good shot. Now he does as much as anyone else.
I think the show-boating is not a deliberate dig or disrespectful to the opponent - or I hope not anyway - I think it is for TV benefit. I don't think I have seen him do such things in the cubicles with maybe 2 people watching.

I don't think they do, actually. I think the Chinese tournaments mostly have the toughest pockets, while the UK tournaments have the easiest. But they are quite inconsistent from day to day. That red along the cushion that Fu missed towards the end was the kind of ball that was going in a few days ago.

The same thing was happening at the Masters, if you remember the shot Robertson got against Ding along the cushion, missing by a mile, but it still went in without even wobbling. We didn't really see anything as outrageous in the following days...

Whenever you go into the pack you are relying on luck so I don't see how that can be only be looked upon as bad luck as all players will have bad splits and good splits, its a high risk for high gain. However playing a bad safety only for the cueball to flick a ball and land in behind a colour can only be seen as fortunate, he didn't plan the shot, it was pure good luck that he snookered Judd on the only red available.

So it's only good or bad luck when you're playing shots that don't rely on luck? Or are you saying Fu was getting lucky splits all session so he was due a bad one? :wink:

I have a different take on this entirely. He clearly was desperate for a loo break and held it long enough not to impede on his opponent (or himself) by taking it during the frame. Very classy and respectful imo.

Whichever way you look at the situation it is bad etiquette to leave when you're opponent is still at the table. Didn't have much of a problem with Marco feigning the exhibition shot at the end because that was just a bit off fun but again, if Trump did something similar to that then he would be criticised by both fans and players, pretty pathetic really.

I also have no idea how playing exhibition shots when you've already won a frame is disrespectful either, I hope someone can explain that to me.

You mean to say Marco ran off *before* the frame was over?! I thought it was at the end of the frame, after the frame was over already If that's the case then my conclusion is totally based upon misinformation and I would have to re-evaluate after seeing it once again. To be honest I was only watching that frame with one eye as I was on the phone with my dad at the time...
