That was a good break leaving nothing to be potted, the idea is not to give your opponent something to pot you know

      Agree completely...good break off.

I really do not get cueman and rich45 at all. Must have some really thick blinders on regarding Trump

      • I have noticed, over the last season (maybe a bit longer) that Trump has been more courteous to the opponent than he used to be, as he never used to hold his hand up and never used to tap the table to acknowledge the opponent's good shot. Now he does as much as anyone else.
I think the show-boating is not a deliberate dig or disrespectful to the opponent - or I hope not anyway - I think it is for TV benefit. I don't think I have seen him do such things in the cubicles with maybe 2 people watching.
        Up the TSF! :snooker:

I don't think they do, actually. I think the Chinese tournaments mostly have the toughest pockets, while the UK tournaments have the easiest. But they are quite inconsistent from day to day. That red along the cushion that Fu missed towards the end was the kind of ball that was going in a few days ago.

The same thing was happening at the Masters, if you remember the shot Robertson got against Ding along the cushion, missing by a mile, but it still went in without even wobbling. We didn't really see anything as outrageous in the following days...

However playing a bad safety only for the cueball to flick a ball and land in behind a colour can only be seen as fortunate, he didn't plan the shot, it was pure good luck that he snookered Judd on the only red available.
So it's only good or bad luck when you're playing shots that don't rely on luck? Or are you saying Fu was getting lucky splits all session so he was due a bad one?

                • Fancy Carter to pull up an upset here. Selby should beat Hawkins too.

That would indeed be nice for a chance...Ali beating Ron. Have to be honest though, can't see it happen really. But who knows...

                    • /Facepalm. Why have the BBC chosen Carter being squashed over the closing session in a hard fought match to show on BBC2?

And football focus on the red button! so annoying, but what a red by Ronnie only to miss that green!

Pretty pathetic how much bias is in this statement. You're saying that he held it in for so long and then just ran off seconds before the end of the frame because he was that desperate? I don't think so.

Whichever way you look at the situation it is bad etiquette to leave when you're opponent is still at the table. Didn't have much of a problem with Marco feigning the exhibition shot at the end because that was just a bit off fun but again, if Trump did something similar to that then he would be criticised by both fans and players, pretty pathetic really.

I also have no idea how playing exhibition shots when you've already won a frame is disrespectful either, I hope someone can explain that to me.

                          • Christ almighty, now Doherty's using the "blessed with a lot of cuepower" line only for carter to play a shot I could play and get more distance with on a club table. Do they all read from a script or something or have certain sayings they have to use?

You mean to say Marco ran off *before* the frame was over?! I thought it was at the end of the frame, after the frame was over already If that's the case then my conclusion is totally based upon misinformation and I would have to re-evaluate after seeing it once again. To be honest I was only watching that frame with one eye as I was on the phone with my dad at the time...

Judd had just potted the pink and stayed at the table to pot the black because he always wants to and Marco ran off before he could. That's how it went down.
