  • Ding is such a fantastic player when he's playing his A-game. Great to watch.

    • I like Carter but I've heard him say that he doesn't really socialise with very many of the other players and in fact has little or nothing to do with any of them away from the table. I can understand why you wouldn't want to be too friendly with your rivals but on the other hand, it must be nice to have people to go out for a drink or a meal with when they are away, say playing in China, Australia or wherever. Be a bit lonely otherwise.

      • In my opinion, Ali Carter is often intimidated by O'Sullivan.

              • What a masterclass of snooker that was from Ding!

As much as I enjoy all the great shot-makers of the game, the rockets and the pistols and various kinds of winds and thunders, the finesse Ding has when breakbuilding is tremendous. He played like a professor today.

                • Got to say Ding has a great chance to make the final. I'd favour him over the others in his half because of his much greater experience. My tip is for a Trump v Ding final.

Haha, yes, we've had a Hurricane, a Whirlwind, a Tornado, a Thunder and a Thai-phoon! Ding is a lovely break builder to watch when he gets flowing. Not really a big green fire breathing Dragon, is he?

                    • Ding has certainly matured brilliantly.

                      Ding rocks!

Ronnie made too many easy mistakes. Gifts to Ali.

That could be a great final if it were to happen
Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

                        • Ding really should make the final, he won't get a better chance. With Allen, Maguire, Selby and Robertson out things couldn't have worked out better for him. There's a huge gulf in class between Ding and all the other remaining players in that half of the draw. I expect him to walk it as long as he keeps his head.

                          • Well done Milkins. 3 on the bounce.

I still think Walden will win the match but who knows.

Couldn't agree more. It sounds daft to say, but I think he's underrated in a roundabout kind of way, in as much as he doesn't get the praise he deserves for his A-game.
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

                              • superb from Ding, one of the best players around when in among the balls at the business end of the table,

i think it could be his year, as long as he keeps his head and doesn't get caught up in scrappy matches, as this is what he doesn't like. he can get frustrated and lose focus.

i think that a Trump final would suite him as they are both attacking players would be great to watch
