I agree, Hawkins hasn't hit the high points of Ding but he has been more consistent and merits his place in the final, he's beaten the next big talent in the game, the world number 1 and shortly the top ranked player left in his half of the draw, I know Selby underperformed but he still should be given credit for his performance here

      • lucky or not .. Ronnie plays it the best .. even Hendry said .. "in my book Ronnie is the best man ever to hold a cue"
if he is doing it by "luck" then Mohamed Ali was too lucky and so was Tiger Woods

          • I fel sory for Stuart Bingham. If I hadn't put him forward
as a possible winner ( and the subsequent jinxing that followed ) ,
he might have fared better. :snooker:

The way Ronnie's playing now; he's an allround player: great potter, great breakbuilder, great safety player and a good B-game to fall back on.
My only counter to this is Ronnie is doing this under no pressure from his opponent. He hasn't had a bad session yet, I can't believe he can maintain this level of consistancy if someone plays well against him, then its a different game. Facts are if Trump can find his long game he can do to Ronnie what Ronnie is doing to his opponents right now. What I'm saying is I'd like to see Ronnie given a test, something he hasn't faced at all yet.

              • Once again, Ding disappoints. I think he saw the draw opening up and put himself under pressure. He should have made the final easy.

I kind of agree, but his opponents are not playing bad, he just doesn't give them any table time and they know if they miss the frame is over. I would like to see Ronnie put under a bit more pressure, and I believe Trump can do that. But I think Ronnie would win, if he keeps playing at this level.

Yes, I fear of a onesided final now.

                    • Trump doesn't have a chance to win at all, Hawkins Walden and ROS would have a better chance and have looked a lot better throughout this tournament, the first two may crumble under the pressure of their first final if they get there, Ronnie would destroy Trump if they meet, he's better in the balls and his safety is superior, i think Trump is very overrated by the english media and his fans...
Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

                          • Ronnie has spoiled his own victory.

He should have won this 13-1. Now, he has to come back tonight.

Little things like this seem trivial, but this could annoy Ronnie and put him in a bad frame of mind for his next match...

Why? Because is a higher ranked player than those left in the bottom half of the draw? It is worth noting that this year is only the second time he has gone beyond the 2nd round of the Worlds so perhaps he is not a player for the long formats, the rankings won't reflect that

Partly. Mainly because he's a different class to the other three players, and vastly more experienced.
