What a frame!
What a frame!
What a frame!
sorry can't help myself....
WHAT A FRAME!!!
Congrats to Trump...he played excellent safety, very impressed with him at the end. Glad to see his genuine smile and happyness with his win at the end. Feel bad for Murphy...but nothing you can do really.

I must admit, when it came down to a frame of nerves - cos that's all it was - my money would have been on Murphy all day long. Judd really showed his bollocks there... if you'll pardon the expression."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

Fighting talk from Trump there though....
To say he felt Ronnie had been over hyped. I have to admit I felt the same after his first 2 matches, but the afternoon session yesterday showed the form he can bring. I am guessing Trump has not seen that.
He only needs to put in one top form session and then maintain steady in the others to beat Trump... should be a great match.
Needs to beat Bingham first though!

One of the best matches of the season, and one of the best frames of the season in the decider. I was surprised Murphy wouldn't go for colours early on. He had four chances, all 50-50 choices really, but he turned them all down, and I think it cost him valuable points in the end.
This was definitely the most interesting part of the draw, with four good players playing well. I kind of wish they'd been more spread out now, but I guess that's just how it goes sometimes.

Dat final frame was incredible. One of the most tense I have seen. The tactical play from both players was incredible considering the amount of pressure. I think Judd's doubters should start admitting that his safety game is coming along extremely well.
Judd vs Ronnie is an intriguing encounter. Plus I kinda feel that whoever wins it will be the world champion this year. Judd will be on a huge high from winning today so I think he has a chance against Ronnie but if I was a betting man I'd still have money on ROS. Looking forward to it.
And btw Judd never said Ronnie was overhyped. He said he had been hyped and therefore the pressure is on him to win rather than Judd for a change. A fair point to make because it means we might see Trump at his A game.

Looking back at Murphy's season, the guy reached at least the quarter-finals in eight out of eleven major events this season (the ten ranking ones plus the Masters). He was in the semi-finals on five of those occasions, and won one of those to reach a final at the UK Championship.
So you can't fault his consistency. But the other side of the coin... He played his fellow top10 players ten times in those tournaments, and only won 3/10. If you include the PTCs, that's 3/13. Surprisingly low percentage, and of course it's prevented him winning titles.
