Not sure what to make of this really. I never expected Trump to be so impotent in the scoring chances, breaking down on 30 every frame. He played that bad session against Murphy in the morning, before turning it around in the evening, and I'm sure he will be looking for something similar here. He was lucky to hang on as well as he did, so it's still in his hands to just raise his game.

But... will Ronnie O'Sullivan be so forgiving next time? He punished Bingham in almost every frame. He has only punished Trump in a couple.

Pressure playing a big part here I think.

Also, while your opponent cannot affect you when you're on the table, they can leave you better or worse chances to get onto the table and/or play better/worse safety in general and this will affect your overall performance and the impression of how well/badly you're playing so perhaps we're seeing a bit of that from both sides, caused by a better class of opponent (or one playing a better level of snooker - even if they both could play better still).

'judd hate' - like it, original. I don't hate him, I've never met him. I do think he comes across as a total bellend though, and that's a big difference.

These balls are horrible. So many bad contacts.

They're annoying Trump. Ronnie seems to be ignoring them. Experience.

I heard Hendry on commentary mention that they are using a new ball from a new manufacturer, I believe that this has in part played a part in this and some of the shock exits and lack of centuries this year.
I just cannot believe that they would use a different ball for this tournament. Of all tournaments to use a new ball this is a mistake, surely they should have waited until the new season before using this new ball.

As yet nobody seems to know what it is but having heard rumours a few of the players are saying the cueball feels light then its no wonder that certain rolled shots or top spin shots are pushing offline or creating kicks.
