  • Fortunately I know nothing about snooker!

I hope Ronnie's ex will allow at least one of his kids to go there like last year - that seemed to help. Actually hasn't he got 3 kids? Would be pretty cool if he could bring all 3 with him, though I'm not sure how much he has to do with the eldest one.

And look at Ronnie's comments about Judd, they must hate each other so much.

Congratulations Ronnie but I'm not exactly thrilled at the prospect of him winning the title again as he will just ride off .
I saw his post match interview....I don't see what he said that makes you think this? If anything Ronnie has been nothing but complimentery about Trump. Unless I'm missing something?

If there is some tension, it doesn't seem to be coming out of Ronnie's mouth.

It needs an Higgins or a Selby to put ROS under pressure. Trump is far far away from being a world champion. I am no hater by the way. Would like to see him do well but he does not seem to be learning well enough for the past 2-3 years.
reality is Higgins is well past his best and I can't see him ever winning another world title. His game has been in bits all season, used to have a solid 'b' game but his safety has also deserted him this season and his long potting is pretty average too. As for Selby he really is further away than Trump in reality. He's only managed one final (6 years ago now) and that was due in large to boring his opponents to tears. Has only made it past the 2nd round twice since that, including 3 first round exits.

I was being totally sarcastic. Sorry, I should have made it obvious.

              • Fact: Right now, no one - NO ONE - can touch Ronnie over distance.

He's the best player in the world by a long way.

                • I wonder if Stephen Lee was watching the match?

Perhaps he can't stand to watch the WC?
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                  I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Ahh...my bad. I just remember some people saying yesterday that there's some tension between the two.

Mark Williams is spot on with his comments about today's standard. Yes ROS is arguably the best ever, and the quality might be better now than it was 15-20 years ago, but the top players today aren't a patch on the players of 10-12 years ago. A prime Hendry, Higgins, Williams and of course O'Sullivan would be right at the top today.

Though perhaps there is some substance behind this burnout claim. I don't see why the players play every event anyway. You don't see Federer/Nadal/Djokovic/Murray playing in every event. Though granted the money is much more in tennis.

There has to be a reason why so many players are underperforming at the WC. It's a shame we didn't get, for example, a ROS vs Higgins + Trump vs Robertson semi final. That'd be the dream for next year. Or Ding, if he ever learns how to play at the Crucible.

Same as they did in their first session. Keep playing to lose.
