    Nope. Not in the slightest.

Wow! The similarities are striking...but still...don't see that happen here.

That was the fourth time Dennis made it at least to the semi-final stage of the Worlds, so, I can't see much of a resemblance.
Besides, Ronnie as he is now, is far from to be called at the peak of his game, so, I doubt it's that much familiar.

cheers that figures. many a time i've looked at those same faces and wondered just how they got tickets. some of the older folk i just assumed it was some sort of secret snooker society that they belonged to but now i know

              • Ok BBC find out that the cloth has been changed (as we know they always do for the final) and that it could well be from a different roll from the previous cloths. But has anyone have a definitive answer to the question - are the balls lighter? a new make? Same make (aramith)? Same type (aramith TC 1g) @ 139+ grams or are they lighter?

                        • Anybody worried about quality, that worry was unfounded. 4 frames, 4 70+ breaks.

                          • great form from Hawkins, if he can carry on that form he has a very real chance of winning this. O'Sullivan looks off today, probably because he felt the match against Judd was his final. He looks to be struggling with the pace of the table and his safety and long potting has gone back to what it was before last years world championship.

                            • I love how an 81 break from a 10-15 year seasoned pro is 'sensational' - Virgo :-s

                              • Excellent stuff from Hawkins. Now, can he hold it for 16 more frames and break Davis' record from 1989?

Seriously though, I think it was important for Hawkins to settle early. Should give him some confidence to punish O'Sullivan if he continues to leave him chances.
