Could someone please answer this question. Are these new balls as in a new type of balls or rather are they just a new set of 1G balls like they normally use.
Terry
No one has come out and said anything officially Tel but Hendry has been talking to the players and they told him that a new manufacturer has supplied the balls this year and none of them are happy with them.
Despite tables and cloths being the same as previous years the standard and century count is well down so my guess is that the balls are cr*p.
Anyone else see that exchange backstage between Ronnie and Barry? Both talking about the table playing poorly and it being better yesterday?
LOL eight breaks over 50 and the table plays funny. I got to get me one of them ****ty tables!
To be fair, both players have had to work hard on those breaks. I think that last century by Ronnie was the only break that didn't have any very difficult shots to pull off after a positional shot.

They are clearly not happy with how the cloth has been responding. Well, I'm not going to criticize their complaints, they are pros, so, they know how it should normally be all better someone who is just watching from TV.
So, 5-3. It wasn't one of those "lucky to be only behind by two frames" sessions for Hawk. He made a couple of mistakes towards the end, though, which were punished by one visit snooker. He'll be looking forward to minimize those and keep in touch.
Nice to see Hawkins finding his form and making this a great
match so far.
Obviously the balls and/or table are not up to par as players rarely
complain for no reason. Hopefully someone is listening and will
correct this nonsense before the next tournament.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins. I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
