  • Barry's positional play is better than it was against Walden too.

Ronnie's potting and safety play hasn't been anywhere near his best this year, but his positional play has been what has set him apart from the others. Perhaps this new cloth has closed the gap?

As I type this, Hawkins wins ANOTHER safety battle.

Makes sense. This game is all in your head... amazing, isn't it?

              • I think also Ronnie has had a lot of run in every single one of his matches but today things have gone awkward for him for the first time and also Barry is getting away with things which other opponents of Ronnie's weren't. I go on about run and luck a lot in snooker because it plays a massive part in the game. People don't often acknowledge it but to play well you need to have good run, especially with kicks and the balls splitting well etc.

                • Not much difference between this match and other's, except ROS's opponent is taking his chances.

Bingham was in first in many frames vs ROS, Trump was in first for most of his match....Ronnie won frames after his opponent missed.

The commentators might talk about how well Ronnie has played but in reality, he's been very poor. It's just that everyone else has been worse.

I'm actually tilting towards predicting a Hawkins upset here.

There were many times vs Trump where the balls went awkward for him. Same with Carter.

In the long matches it usually evens out.

Yes but those players didn't get a lot of run, what about the amount of kicks Judd was getting, it massively dented his confidence and trust in the table. today ronnie has been getting kicks and hasn't looked happy with the table, and he's started to get a bad run of the ball at times, something he hardly had in his earlier matches.

                        • That's more like it Ronnie.

Watch him break down before the century...

                          • very good response from ronnie

could have been easy to miss some balls after not havin any table time

Well it depends on whether or not you define a kick as being unlucky. It's debatable at least. If you take those out of the picture for a second, I don't think Ronnie was fortunate against Trump at all. Sure he had moments, but so did Trump.
