Pff...he has worn the same shirt just about each day this year!

And indeed...we've had this exact same discussion last year as well (casual or formal wear)

          • What happened to the days when the audience used to wear suits and stuff that actually looked smart?

That guy which wears football shirts is wearing the same thing every year:

            • The days of wearing suits SHOULD be over really. You want to attract a new audience to snooker. Scrap the dress code for events other than the WC/UK/Masters too, though that's a different issue.

The young generation don't give a toss about suits and waistcoats. It isn't 'cool'. Judd Trump and Jack Lisowski - the young generation - have both made this point. Snooker should be listening to them, not just the older fans.

Burnout might be a reason, but it's their own fault. The tennis players don't play in every event. Roger Federer has played in 1 event since the Australian Open I believe.

Snooker and Tennis seasons are fairly similar. You have 3 of the 4 majors all within a short period of time - French, Wimbledon and US Open.

The only argument I can understand is that there maybe isn't the money to pick and choose, but the best players should be able to do that. The lesser players who aren't good enough to get to the latter stages of events might have to attend more tournaments, but that's too bad. It's the same in tennis. Some players play in every event because they know they'll struggle to make it far. By the end of this season, Roger Federer will have played maybe half the events at best and yet he'll be in the top 4. Why? Because he's so good.

I've got no sympathy. I wouldn't attend some of the China events if I was a pro snooker player. Try to peak for the WC - the season really starts to get serious in December, where you have the UK, Masters, German Masters, Welsh Open and World Championship within 5 months.

Take the first 6 months lightly, so you can peak for the 2nd 6 months.

              • Sjeez again with the 'comedian' I don't find him a bit funny. The bbc'd much better do a regular highlights skit like they do each year...much better imo. Anyway...onwards to a 1-2 frame final mini session.

Btw had to lol again at Poomjaeng's "YES!"..gets me every time.

                    • ...and whilst I'm on about things that annoy me!, who on earth is this clown who's trying to be funny in the interval? Bring back the compilation of funny, great, bad, fluke etc shots and facial expressions of the layers, like they always used to show in the interval. This bloke is about as funny as the cretin in the football shirt!

Same. BBC are idiots for not having it. It's common sense - you see 'goals of the tournament' in football all the time. They capture the imagination.

Instead we're stuck with some horrible comedien and a boring Griffiths skit. As if that's going to attract new fans.
