Hi, I have bought a snooker table and am trying to find out a little about its history.
At the baulk end there is a Thomas Padmore and sons company plate, at the opposite end there is a W.A. Camkin, Birmingham Billiards Limited, Camaspeed cushions plate ( underneath this, Thomas Padmore, edmund street is written in gilt onto the wood)
The underside of the cushions have old stickers with Coventry Electric written on.
The timbers under the slate, all have 1954 stamped on.
The slate is around 1 1/2 inckes thick and has a ornate chiseled in number - one letter and three numbers ( unfortunately, I can't read the number at the momment as it obscured by the partly by the timber frame)
I am having the table recovered, and the Chap who is covering it thinks it was made some time shortly after the first world war.
Does anyone know how or where I can find out more about the table
Thanks in advance
Roy
