It sounds logical. The first Crucible finals started with a 7 frame session, and evening was larger.
When it starts a best-of-35 was 7-9-8-11, and whem semifinals get up to best-of-33 the final changed to current 8-8-8-11
yes the reason it changed was snooker was getting faster and 7 frames seshions was over in a flash so it made more sense to have it more equal and thats the reason i believe the semi final was increased to best of 33 8-8-8-9 instead of 7-8-7-9 in a best of 31
