  • Coming out of a 15 year hiatus on cue sports. NT Open 8-ball Tournament...

G'day Whilst looking online to firstly find another cue like my own I found interesting threads here.

Coming out of a 15 year hiatus on cue sports due to work and location, I'm jumping back in with a bang. And probably a 'Pantsing' at the Northern Territory Open World Rules 8-Ball tournament later this week. Part of a 12000km road trip with a couple of mates and my Jags Terrier 😎👌

Any how, I'll be honest, not here to brag about pool skills, but am keen to research Rex Williams cues.

I have a 1956 (please correct me if I'm wrong on that) Powerglide Rex Williams Diamond Series that was shortened and thinned to an 8.5mm tip. I'd like an unmolested example to play with.

    Welcome to TSF "Diamond Series"
    more like 1986
Powerglide started around 1970/71 by Rex, and Diamond cue appeared around 84/85.

    Good luck with the tournament
    any site for that?
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

I started very rusty, but got a feel for the beautiful tables by midway through the tournament. Started to control my games...

Then my client (disabled) had a meltdown due to the Darwin heat (pun intended) and I had to withdraw to drive him to Cairns to have an injection and.... In short f#$k !!!!

On the cue of mine, Rex Williams started powerglide in 1968 from my research.

      * I think I had the year of manufacture mixed with the que's age. Both possibly wrong as it was unverified hearsay at the time by the previous owner after I acquired it from a pawn shop.

I'm soon to get in contact with Chris Williams, apparently the son of Ken to discuss it further, and hopefully get a whiff of another cue similar or identical, if available. 😉

LOL well done with the games When you get that feeling of having control and good focus is great isn't it

Things come along that end the good-times - mine is usually the wife!
        Hope they are ok.

        Sorry who is Chris/Ken Williams?

Ken Williams made my cue. He is Rex William's (snooker World Champ) brother. Chris is Ken's son.

So, hoping to have them dig out a cue for me 🤤🤞

Or, better yet, have ken make me one 🤔

            Holy Mother of bumpers.

Back into playing... my client who had a meltdown is now also hooked on playing pool. So I'm back into it.

Didn't have any luck finding a cue. Getting my old Diamond Series poorly whittled tip end lopped, re done and getting an extension butt made.

It used to be a snooker cue, but the previous owner let his mate do some wild curve shots and broke it. So it got chopped & reshaped down to an 8mm ferrule for playing small ball comps in Tasmania.

I want it back to 10.5mm

Still hunting a nice unmolested one piece snooker cue, with at least 9 pieces of timber in it. Just a want thing. Not a genuine need.

I anyone knows of or can part with one, please let me know.

I'm not a lowballer. I'll pay what it's actually worth to get the right cue for me.

            Cheers 🍻
