I've noticed that Kyren does a little wiggle before getting down to take the shot, and one or two other players sometime do it too. Is it just a personal quirk in their game or a technique to try and improve body position for aiming?

It's the latter, but not for aiming... what looks like wiggling is a form of making micro adjustments to his balance.
And it's actually a smart thing to do because any imbalances in your stance when finally delivering the cue will throw it off marginally.
Footwork is essential in almost any sport because of this. Golf pros do the exact same thing before they strike the ball and Steffi Graf's legendary "wiggling" granted her superior balance control throughout her entire career.Last edited by neuronic; 21 February 2023, 09:25 AM."That pocket moved!"

I wasn’t aware Bingham was or had used it though .

Wasn't Bingham along with Martin Gould, Rory McLeod and a couple of others not the original group that tried it. Bingham had it on his cue, then broke away from Feeny and went with riley, who must have had their own version as Bingham had a slightly different one on his cue. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
