Anyone remember Spitting Image from the 80's ? their John Motson puppet was dressed in a school uniform, that's how I see Phil Yates, over enthusiastic little boy with a satchel full of stats and cliches that he thinks will make him the most popular boy in school.

Phil seems to have eased on the pointless facts recently which is a step in the right direction but it's still irritating how he knows nothing about break building and never talks technical. The complete opposite of in-depth commentary from Willie Thorne, Dennis Taylor and John Virgo.

"Interestingly, that is the 14th yellow Selby has potted this season and his 3rd of the tournament".

I'm just making that quote up as an example of whenever he starts off with the word 'interestingly' I know what's coming.
