  • R O Sullivan vs McManus, D Taylor & Parrott Crucible 93 & 94

Does anyone know where there's any footage of these matches ? I didn't see anything on YouTube and the BBC to my knowledge has never shown anything.
The earliest O Sullivan Crucible footage i can see on YouTube is his 1995 quarter final 8 - 13 defeat to Stephen Hendry.

I well remember Parrott beating him 13-3 in 1994. I don’t have footage though.

      Quote not working.

OT But i remember the same matchup 5 years later at the Crucible, there was one frame O 'S needed two or three snookers to win a frame, he got them with aplomb, pure class, it's still possibly the best exhibition of pursuing snookers that i've ever seen.

As a big McManus fan back in the day, I remember that 93 match quite well, unfortunately, technology hasn't developed enough to upload those memories onto TSF just yet . I do remember the commentator saying it was 'the match of the tournament so far'!

maybe Mr Snooker can help, if I recall correctly they had a collection of old World Championship matches.

          :cross-fingers:
          Up the TSF! :snooker:

I can’t say for sure that I don’t have any footage but I gave around 100 old VHS tapes to Roger Lee years ago. I still have around fifty tapes boxed up but no idea what’s on them… Mainly 90’s televsion snooker.

I wonder if there's a chance Patsy Houlihan is on one of those Cyril? 🤔

No chance of that I’m afraid. The only hope of ever seeing Houlihan footage is if anyone has an old tape from his 1978 match v Thorburn at the Crucible.

Bit of a difference compared to Hendry's debut, a decent losing effort to Willie Thorne in 1986 which was more noted and is still on youtube.

There is an outside chance that the match with Taylor could appear at some point as Roger Lee has it on his list of matches which is vast. The downside is that he no longer sells footage due to ill health. He currently has a lot of his memorabilia up for sale on an auction site therefore I'm sure at some point he will want to get rid of his dvd collection, but how and when that will be who knows!
