  • Who knows the answer?

First please excuse my bad english, school lessons have been 20 years ago.

I potted a red ball. Then I potted the blue into the middle pocket, the cueball got at the other end of the table, hit the green and the green was also potted.

    What ist this?

Is it foul? If it is, which value?
Is it ok? If its ok, which ball is valued? the first, the higher/lower valued, both?

I read any rulesbook I could get, but didnĀ“t find an answer.

    Thanks alot for your responses!

    Hey minus4!!

It would be 1 point scored to you but unfortunately you would give your opponent a 5 point penalty bonus! It would be a 4 point foul if youd potted the brown and also the yellow/green but 5, 6 or 7 if it was the blue, pink or black respectively. Do you understand?

      IĀ“m afraid not really...

So you think, its a foul? Why? I played a correct ball and in this case i potted two balls with one shot.

I could pot each of them, but I musstn`t pot them together?

I couldn`t find this special rules anywhere.

wouldn't it just be a foul of five points, nothing else.

No you mustnt pot BOTH together. If you do you will be penalised the higher ball value which in this case is 5.

you were trying to pot a red, which you did, but during the next phase of the same shot you potted a blue and a green, this is a foul. this is because you were on a red.

            hope this helps.

I think he meant he potted the red then went for a colour but either ways it is a 5 point foul. If it was like you suggest itx and he potted ALL 3 balls in one shot then he would still give away 5 but wouldnt score the 1 point for the red. Simple stuff guys but hope you understand it now

You should only pot the ball that you nominate, in this instance the blue ball. If you pot any other ball along with it (white, red, yellow, green or brown), you get 1 point & concede 5 penalty points. If you nominate blue and pot blue & pink, you concede 6 points. If you nominate blue and pot blue & black, you concede 7 points.

So basically, you can only pot the ball that you nominate and fouls are calculated according to which ball you foul. Blue is worth 5 points so you concede 5 points if you foul the blue or pot lower value colors along with it, but you concede 6 or 7 points if you pot higher value colors along with it, i.e. pink or black.

Hope this clarifies it for you

scoo24 without wishing to contradict your post matey you dont score the 1 point for the red if you pot a colour as well in the same shot as you suggest.

He scored 1 point for the red prior to the blue. He gets the 1 point irrespective of what happens when he plays the blue ball. What I meant in my post that any foul on the blue including but not limited to potting the white, one or more reds, yellow, green or brown, he concedes 5 points. if it's pink or black, he concedes 6 or 7 points, but he still gets the one point for potting a red prior to the color he nominated.

It was a long explanation because minus4 said his English wasn't very good.

I see I though you meant if he potted red, blue and green in 1 shot! My apologies! Would be a great shot that

this is the stupidest thread i have ever read you are not allowed to pot 2 colours after a red you must hit or pot the nominated colour anything else is a foul.

                              No worries, m8

I've seen a chicken runout on a pool table laying an egg instead of a cueball
