Not everyone is an expert as yourself. The guy asked a question and we tried to answer him comprehensively. No need to call it a stupid thread

Thank you for your input to the thread ste bed kind of already explained that though. I dont consider it to be stupid though as any problem for any person needs to be solved and if minus4 was uncertain he is totally entitled to pose the question to the forum.
Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

No worries, like I said I tried explaining the logic behind the 5 points penalty or more in case it was a higher value colour that was potted along with the blue because really some people do enjoy the game but not everyone has access to proper knowledge

Sorry guys I´ll explain it in german so minus4 will understand...

Thanks for your answers, now its clear to me.

I didn´t know that i have to nominate a colour. Never heard Steven Hendry say: "Now yellow"
And my problem was, that it is alowed to pot two reds.

You do not have to actually SAY the ball you are going for. By aiming towards the ball, that is nominating it.

If it is not obvious - for example, if you are aiming in the direction of two possible colours, or if snookered - then the referee can ask the player to say the colour, in which case he MUST say it or it will be a foul.

But if you get down to the shot and it is obvious which ball you are aiming towards, then it is not necessary to say it.
