The world was a quieter, more respectful place without the damn things. Just an excuse for teenage girls to talk about shopping and teenage boys to send each other porno.

Oh yes, and the Taliban to blow up young children with bombs hidden in wheelbarrows. Thank you Nokia et al.

Lmao!! And here I thought I was being inventive, replying whilst keeping Nam's original sentences there for all to see!! Next time I'll do it in fuschia or something equally noticeable! Lol!

I would not want to be a member of a club which allows mobile phones to be used in the playing room.

I have mine on silent in my pocket and, if it rings, I go out to the bar and take the call or, if I'm in the middle of a frame, let it ring and call back after the frame. Why anyone would want to be interrupted during a game is, frankly, beyond me. (Unless you know you're expecting an important call, of course!)

Isn't it funny how easily you can be distracted by something that shouldn't happen, but not distracted by something expected even if it's more in-your-face?

I was thinking this the other day; someone had quite rudely walked past my eye-line as I was on my shot, and it really bothered me. But then someone walked past because he was playing on the next table, and it didn't bother me at all!

Anyhow, it's rather rude to both parties to have a conversation with two people at once; and I view it equally rude to have a game with one person and a conversation with another.
