Had my highest ever breaks doing some line-ups yesterday. Had a 72 which came to a halt with a humoungous kick, meaning I was completely out of position. Followed that up however with an 83! I was over the moon!

I've been playing really bad lately. then tonight out of the blue I hit an 83.
I could have taken two reds around the black which would have given me 99,
instead I went for the moe difficult red knowing that if I got it I would have almost certainly got my first ton. Still I happy with what I got as I've been playing s*** for weeks and weeks now.
Ps
I changed back to my JP for the last to nights from my trevor white cue. Now I still think the TW is the better cue, just that its to long for me. waiting for TW to get back to me on shortening it.

Had 85 with me new Craftsman Majestic today. My best for a long time!!!! Just started playing again 2 or 3 months ago after 4 years out with a knackered back!

In practice yesterday a total clearance in the line up and an 81 after smashing the reds off the break, quite pleased with my form at the moment, think it's down to not thinking about anything while I'm playing, just doing it.Last edited by vmax4steve; 4 August 2010, 11:19 AM.

I think you both need to trust your mechanics more so you have more confidence especially under pressure.
Even though I do this for a living (well, sort of as there is not a lot of business lately with summer) and normally charge for video analysis I will make you both an offer. If you can video yourself and post it on youtube and send me the link I will do a quick analysis for free and let you both know what I find and recommend.
If you take 6 or 7 object balls and place them one at a time midway between blue spot and middle bag and then cueball the same on the other side of the table (hand on the table shot) and then pot the object ball and screw back to the middle bag underneath your body.
I need 2 camera shots, one from dead-on looking at your cue (use 4 object balls), head and shoulder and then a couple from the back (use 3 or 4 object balls) directly behind the cue. For the shot from behind the cue you might need some extra lighting as it's usually dark that far from the table lights.

If I was seventeen again I would take up zen buddhism and learn to empty my mind, for that is when I play at my best, but at age fifty three I'm past caring. Besides, I'm a pretty good loser, I never feel beat, it's just a game that sometimes I'm good at, sometimes not.
