im struggling...i start flapping around the late 20's at the moment whenever ive been in my league match because i know anything around there count as a break and i get recognition for it on the website...ive created this whole load of pressure on myself and its crept into my practice of late..
my highest break for the past week or so has been 33, 32, 31, 29, 27, 25, countless 24's loads of 20-24's etc...anything over 25 is regarded as a "break" and i get recognition for it... i know im more than capable of making 50's but i seriously cant get my act together at the moment...
i cant wait for the english amateurs when i draw some dude who spanks in centurys for fun and i struggle getting over the line in the 20's!!! blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
i decided to take a day off from snooker today...tomorrow is another day....
what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....
Just got rid of my mastercue millennium and replaced it with a JP Classic, and what a difference. I'm not a consistent big break builder, but still managed a 64 in my 3rd frame of practice (my 4th highest break behind, 65, 67 and 86).
I got my first 50 yesterday. 51. Probably could have got the pink and black for 64 but was just too damn excited that I got 50 that I just hit the pink without trying too hard even though I was in an OK position.
5 reds + 3 pink / 2 blacks and colours up to and including the blue.
Thought I would add that the tables I play on have just been recovered and levelled. I was at 38 on the old surface and figured I could get 50 on a good table. Took about 3 weeks on new cloth to get it.

Well done on your first 50 . They now start to come along like London Buses .
I don't normally do the line up but potted 13 reds and 12 colours last night for an 89 . Which beats my best line up by 20 . Before that struggled to pot 6 balls together in about 20 attempts
Then played a few frames with a mate and don't think i scored a break of more than 20 !
I'm like you Luke , really struggling . Don't worry about the tables getting done , it's in your head . You can't always play on good tables . You know what it's like when you play an away League match and the table looks like it has never been recovered or cleaned for years and there's more spots on the balls than the 101 Dalmatians . You just need to get your nut down and concentrate .
Well that's what i keep telling myself [ and my mates keep telling me ]. Got the concentration of a Goldfish at the moment . Think i will just go back to potting and forget about everything else . That's if i can remember how to pot !
Cue action all over the place and can't find a local coach for a few lessons . Been looking for a few months now . But no joy .
Someone remind me why i love this game ?

103, 86, and 72 along with a couple of other 50's in a session today. The 86 should have been a ton too, missed the final blue for a possible 104, the 72 also could have been a ton but my opponent had lost interest in counting the scores by then. Oh well I'm happy with that even if he's peed off!!!!
108 i missed the yellow off the spot....it was just a strait forward yellow to green for a 15 red 15 color clearance, i wasnt to upset, i had 2 or 3 breaks over 60 that night so i was happy.
