      • I only made a break of 30 tonight. Could've been more, but played a poor positional shot when potting the Blue into the middle pocket, while sending the cue ball in & out of baulk but flicked the green & was left without a pot on of any kind.

          • Made a 78 last week, but I had a fluke when on 21 so it doesn't count, not in my eyes anyway.
Anyone else feel this way about their own flukes ?

              No.
              Flukes are legal.
It's taken me years to get over the angst of my opponents flukes and the guilt of my own.

You made a 78 mate... well done I say!

Me too, I've seen a couple of 147's that saw a fluke along the way or even ones that started off with a fluke.
No reason to feel guilty about it, one day it'll happen to you, another day it'll happen against you. Same goes to fluked snookers. Just a part of the game....

Flukes may be legal, but for me they should be legislated out of the game. It doesn't bug me when my opponent gets one, as long as they acknowledge that they were lucky, and I myself don't like being looked upon as lucky.

Many years ago I played our leagues best player, he played a safety off the pack, fluked a red and made 68 off it, game over I shook his hand, but he started moaning about how he could have had a century if he hadn't missed the last red. I reminded him that he was lucky to have gotten the chance as the first red was a fluke.
" I still had to pot all the others " he said, " without that fluke they could have been mine," I said. He then told me in no uncertain terms that I wasn't good enough to have gotten them. I accepted his inflated opinion of himself, had a word with my captain to make sure I got him in the return match, and I did, making a colours clearence to beat him on the pink, which was on the side cushion, and rather than trying to disturb it, I left myself a double into the middle and cracked it in really hard.
After the rather limp wristed handshake I recieved I heard him mutter to his team mates, " I've always believed that there is an element of luck to a double."
So I replaced the balls roughly where they were and cracked the pink in again, " shall I do it again," I said," 'cos I can you know, and if you like you can put the reds into a bunch and play some safety shots off them until you pot one in the corner, and we'll see just who is lucky and who isn't."

I was young then, and easily riled, but I'd made my point.

                    • Had a 108 against my mate about an hour ago. Was very straight off the last red for the black on 92, just screwed the white back and left a long yellow for the ton. Stroked it in nicely, potted green and brown and took my eyes off the blue. Had a 66 the frame before so felt really good. Just started playing more regularly after only playing about once a week so pleased to find form so quickly.

                      • had a 44 and 49 on sunday. the 49 could have been my first ton though, i was playing so well and missed a very difficult cut blue (not even sure if it was possible) the white went into the remaining 5 reds in the bunch and they split like a flower.

it's a relief to know school's over and you can now focus on improving your 17.

However, "17" was not the correct answer. Sorry.
