  • had a 45 and a 55 tonight, the latter was probably the best chance ive ever had at a century, they guy i was playing was throwing his toys and decided to smashed the pack off the break, did all the hard work to get to the 50's and the last 6 or 7 reds were perfectly scatered around the pink and black spot when i missed an easy red on 55, got way too far ahead of myself when i knew the ton was a chance , oh well one day, probably when im not thinking about it so much

Grrrrrrr, did it again last night, got to 57 with 5 reds nicely placed then played a shocking positional shot and missed a long pot on a baulk color i really need to stop thinking too far ahead but i can't seem to help it

          Um... Craig...
          57's great if it's a winning break!

          Was it?

yeah it won me the frame and i was definitly still really happy about the break but ive just been getting a bit frustrated in the last few months as ive had about 6 breaks over 50 but the highest of them was only 63 and most of them were really good chances for alot higher, ive made a few centurys in practice doing semi realistic drills (cluster of reds below the pink and some loose ones around the black) and just want this to translate into a big break in a match.

              • Forman, maybe try this the next time you get to 50... start counting to yourself again from 1. Kid yourself that you've just arrived at the table and your aim is to make another decent score. If your opponent does call out the score when you start hearing 70 or 80 or whatever, just forgot that score (easier said than done) and count the 'new' break to yourself.

                Just an idea!

Very good thought. Used to work for me years ago.

                      • Got a 31 with my new TW cue. Bit unlucky after going in the pack, but still missed a relatively easy red.

                          • Had a 39 and a 40 tonight, as usual could have been more on the 40-break missed a very getable pink with 3 more reds nicely spread. As I haven't properly started practising it's probably a good sign. But, my long potting is stil horrendous, always tend to feel myself leaning slightly to the right on long pots, dodgy stance maybe!
