I've been playing for nearly 30 years but had my max nearly ten years ago now. I have played for England (I was very lucky to get in the team in all honesty) and played in the same side as Mark Joyce (currently ranked 57 in the World). The reason I'm not playing on the MT is that I am woefully short of the standard required!

After one of the most shocking days snooker for a while (really don't play enough) I managed a mere 16... red black red pink red
Chalk it up to a really bad day, I was sighting everything wrong, timing was frankly pants. Cueing wasn't too bad managed quite a few good long pots, but as soon as I was around the balls I'd totally fluff one aiming it to some imaginary pocket away from the real one
There we go, that proves this threads not just for century break makerssigpic A Truly Beakerific Long Pot Sir!

had an 40 yesterday, my friend broke the balls up and i was in prime position - 5 red 5 blacks and finished just on 3 quarter ball above the black had to force it off the bottom cushion and missed, but ended perfect on the red - then my mate got a 56 the b@stard lol - all in all though pretty good cueing, still room for plenty improvement!!!
i sometimes feel more confident playing for example a mid range red than i do when i'm in the balls, i mean my highest break in the league is 79, but sometimes i miss that many easy shots i deserve to get shot myself...its like half my focus is gone!!! and the last few sessions have been poor......won 2 out of the last six league games!!! help!!!

Got a 43 the other day, my highest since my 56 a few weeks back. I was on 35, got a red in the corner and left a stupid angle on the black. Got that in to get to 43 but had to force it in, ended up out of position. Tried cutting the red into the left middle but it just clipped the near jaw... had the perfect weight and finished on the black again too.
I hate it when you get out of position on such a simple shot, as you know that reds are open and that you can see another 20+ points in advance! Oh well:snooker:
High break: 117

Cheers mate! Feels great when you play that well doesn't it? It almost feels like its irrelevant whether you're good position or not the balls are going in regardless!I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.

Made 105 yesterday potted the last red for 106 and tried to disturb the black which was on the back cushion and I knocked it in the corner pocket
Ive just started back playing after knocking it on the head for nearly 2 years....im not practising alot, just playing once a week and have done for the last month just to ease back into it because I totally lost interest, at the moment im really enjoying just having my few frames a week, couldnt believe I made a ton though, I was on 60 odd and sort of knew I was going to have one, I was walking round the table sort of chuckling to myself as my dad looked on willing me to make it, I was playing awful before that frame as well... its mad sometimes how something just clicks and you start flying.
Fair one magicman for posting you've had back to backs its not easy, ive done it quite a few times (not being bigheaded in anyway) but it goes to show how good the pros are because I find after you've made a century the next frame its hard to get back down to a level head because your still buzzing from making it the last frame then to make it all again is great.
I was in a club practising with my mate a few years back and Dominic Dale was on the next table and he had back to back max's and then made a 145 the next frame lol... silly good.

yeah not too far away, was the yellow side of the table,a fine cut but still tried a screw/side shot to swing it off bottom/side to be on yellow.ended up hitting the black too thick, might have been a bit ambitious on the position...!!H.b.142
