Yup. It's certainly been a late one, and I'll be suffering for it at work tomorrow. Night night!Andy Guest

I don't know if a line-up practice can be counted as a break but I made 83. It's my highest "break" so far. My previous record on line-up was 61. Getting better, may be the century is not so far away as it seems.:snooker:2010 China Open number of centuries prediction contest winner!

I reckon my best real break was 56 when I first made a line-up century, and it was 94 by the time I made my first total clearance in a line-up. Line-ups are much easier than the real thing, mostly because they can be very forgiving about your position. Bit too high on the red you played for? Never mind, there's another one just two inches further up the table. Black a bit tricky from here? I'll take the easy pink instead then.
Obviously there's an art to leaving yourself a range of choices when you make a real break, but it needs to be a very friendly spread before it works out as easy. Good news is that line-ups are a perfect way to learn how to play your positional shots. Also, play against the best opponent you can find, and watch how they choose shots to play - you'll learn lots quickly!Andy Guest

I practice on line-ups, different routins and playing couple of frames with someone I don't know from the club or alone. I'd be happy if I could find someone who takes it all serious and practice not only on potting balls but on tactics, shot selection, safe, etc.
Once I made a 47 break and was on easy color to pot and to continue the break but I've suddenly realised that, got excited and simply missed that easy pot. That's my highest match break since. So if I can make a 83 "break" on line up I take it as a great personal acheivement. These line ups make me feel very comfortable and confident in the scoring zone. But again, I need to play as much as I practice, though I practice much more than I play frames against anybody and I don't feel confident when I find myself out of position.
Well, enough with the complaints. Thanks, AndyG.2010 China Open number of centuries prediction contest winner!

47 is a good effort. You can't make a break of that size without knowing what you are doing. Get yourself a lineup century because that is an achievement in itself too. It must be hard not being able to find a good opponent. I sympathize.Andy Guest

49 is the highest this week aphough haven't played that much this week... Wobbled a black was on for a 103 clearance am gutted! Landed perfect on red after focig the black but the pockets are so tight it just wobbled and stayed in jaws.. I'm certain any normal table it would dropped which just annoys me more.. I've only hit a coupleof 20's since and now I can't seem to pot a ball!!what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....

Sorry, I thought you were being funny. It is a practice routine where you line the reds up down the centre of the table with the colours on their spots. You play it like a normal frame - red colour red etc - until your break ends and you set them up again. It is reasonably easy to make 30s even for beginners and it really helps with positional play.Andy Guest
