i very rarely do line ups, i personally prefer to take about 8 red balls, put three in pottable positions around the black spot area, and but four in a cluster below the pink but make sur they are tight and none pot (so you have to develop them at some point)
then just for good measure in case i run out of position i place a red between the pink and blue and my aim is the clear the table and start again...what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....

Sounds like a good routine. Little surprise that you are progressing so quickly, Luke. I hope you make your target century soon!Andy Guest

About bloody time! :-)
I went down our local club on sunday night armed with assurance having re-discovered something very effective for my game. So i went there with the same intention as every other time i go, and that was to make a century against someone. Trouble was, that there were only 3 of us so we had to take it in turn to play. I had a 52,70 and then i had a 109, missed the final black for a 116 clearance(bothered!!!)lol...
Then shortly after that i packed my cue away and said to my mates. Right i'm off! Ive done what i came here to do, and now that ive done it i'm going home! :-) Will i do it the next time i play? I can only wait and see.
I want to be in a position where i make multiple centuires per session on a regular basis. I know i'm capable it just needs to happen, and i feel as if its very much in the post!!!Cheap and Cheerful! 😄

Also, just what was that "very effective" thing you re-discovered? Consider me a keen student of the game.Andy Guest

The proof in the pudding will come when i go on sunday night as this was the last time i practised with my one piece. I know its naughty to use 2 cues and i may not use the 3/4 cue again as its likely to hinder rather than help my progress.
With regards to the "very effective" thing i mentioned. Its an aspect of my stance that i'd not addressed properly, I'll say no more than that! lol. However its advantages are of no use at all if anything else I've learnt in addition isn't applied. So my advice may not be as effective for anyone else.Cheap and Cheerful! 😄

I revisited my coach this week, he's given me a few things to work on but this week the highest break is a mere 32... If you count Sunday when I had a 49 in a frame with a nasty kick on pink and then lost the frame but I haven't been able to hit anything since...
Saving myself for pink ribbon tournament tomorrow...lolwhat a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....
