In my club there were just two out of the five tables that had a shelf at the end ... one had a shelf slightly lower than the ideal cue butt height, the other had a shelf slightly higher than where you'd usually have your cue butt. So it was usually a relatively simple matter of cueing above or below the shelf.
The table between these two had no shelf. So the management decided to put one on the wall at the end of the table for the drinker's convenience.
The wall is about ten foot high.
How high did they put the shelf? Exactly where you'd want to have the butt of the cue.
Inbetween the other shelves' heights. Truly a special
        kind of logic.

oh no the shelf of doom! how frustrating!!!!

played a touch better today, me and james sort of did a role reversal in hte way of form today..i started terrible and i thought it was going to continue...then i begun cueing a bit better and started potting a few balls...nothing major today but a 29 and at least thats something...

although today it was kicks galore...playing in the rileys with no air con was MEGA hot, and no exaggeration in the slightest we had OVER 50 kicks today, it was literally kicking every other shot to the point we were playing FOR kicks haha

          so frustrating..
what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....

dont have my own table however my club is just a local service club and its literally a few doors away from my house at the end of my road so i just wander down there practically whenever i want, theres always someone there whatever time...

I'm off to Riley's Staines this evening - taking a fan along - no, I don't have groupies following me around ... an electric fan to try to keep me cool - or should I say a bit less hot - it's like a sauna in there ...

                oh my goodness isnt it!?

i swear i never knew i could play snooker and lose weight at the same time, i should cancel my gym membership and just go to rileys, play snooker and sweat the weight off! its horrible!

and certainly doesnt help when your playing a game of snooker and everytime the cueball comes into contact with object ball you get a hefty kick lol, so frustrating.
