  • Do you practice alot Acro, as I went for quite a few years just playing mainly match snooker with no practice in-between so obviously wasn't scoring anywhere near as well as I used to when I was young and playing regularly.

In fact I think I got to the stage sometimes where I deliberately didn't play position in matches in case I missed the pot!!

You still are young pottingpinks. I stopped playing when was about 43/44 and never played again until 11 months ago. Now play several times a week, but not enough.

    • I cannot seem to get the hang of this new copy and paste on here. Anybody got any suggestions, please?

            • I had a 73 against my dad on Tuesday night, my best break to date! Was previously 61. I was in 57 and on the black into the corner and my legs wouldn't stop shaking as I was really nervous that I was going to get a new high break! Not sure how I made it up to 73 to be fair, my arms and legs were like jelly - I'm not use to scoring a break so high!

                • I made a 35 today, 4 red-blacks, and one red-yellow. Not great at all judging by other people on this forum but it's decent for me!

If I could make more 30+ breaks I'd be happy.

                          • Was on a break of 43 last night, but missed what was a comparatively easy red just off straight, which would have landed me plumb on the black. The balls were well placed for a possible clearance, which made it all the more frustrating missing a sitter like I had..

                            • ok, so i figured id play again tonight after having a relatively long break due to the season being over...

I played 3 frames tonight against some well known good safety players - there not brilliant potters but good enough to string a 30 break together... each frame i played i cleared the 100 point margin whilst each from my opponent didnt get more than 7.

in the 3 frames i had a 41, 37, 36, 31, 27, 25 which wasnt too bad, the best thing about the breaks is that i didnt miss any easy ball and the reason why it came to the end of my break was merely because either a cannon didnt work out or the reds were on the cushions and it was just a bit unlucky...

so not too bad, made me want to get back down the snooker hall tomorrow and start playing again!
what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....
