Green ball is in the jaws of the corner pocket, brown is three inches in front and the cue ball is two or three inches in front of the brown. It actually is a foul hook and I nominate the brown as the green. Can I play a combination and sink the green in the jaws and what happens if they both go in. Is this a legal shot?

From how I understand you to mean no you cant plant the brown onto the green. If they both went in, being a foul shot, they would both be replaced on their respective spots.Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

I thought as long as you hit the nominated ball first, then it is allowed, however on a colour you only score the points for the colour (not twice the points) if you pot both?
isnt this section 3, rule 10?
(d) If a ball on is potted, after the cue-ball struck the nominated ball first, or simultaneously with a ball on, the ball on is scored and remains off the table.
(e) If both the nominated ball and a ball on are potted, only the ball on is scored unless it was a Red, when each ball potted is scored. The free ball is then spotted and the ball on remains off the table.Last edited by RGCirencester; 24 March 2009, 04:11 AM.sigpic A Truly Beakerific Long Pot Sir!

OK I have just spoken to the boss (Not the missus but a pal ref of mine) and Im afraid I must hold my hands up and admit im wrong. It is a legitimate shot. Congrats RGC but I still maintain im a coach not a refAlways play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.
