  • Snooker Exhibition

    Hello all,

I have been searching the net for a while now and havent been able to find what im lookin for. I am helping out with an exhibition of Ian McCulloch and Chris Norbury (71 in world - my girlfriend's brother). The exhibition is being organised by us and need help with the names and places where i would be able to download some snooker music. I know about Chaz and Dave's - Snooker Loopy and the BBC Snooker music but if anyone could help me out it would be great.

    my messenger addy is theevansbrothers@hotmail.com

I'm not sure there are any more songs that are that closely related to snooker. I could be wrong but with a Kazaa search only these two come up as well.

What about the pot black theme tune? Probably more closely related to pot black than to snooker in general, but it's instantly recognisable to most snooker fans.

From wikipedia "Pot Black's instantly recognisable theme tune was the ragtime classic Black And White Rag, composed by George Botsford and performed by Winifred Atwell."

I don't know where you'd find it to download though. Maybe kazaa/DC/emule.

ay-eek-grrr.... I hate hitting 'back' before pressing 'submit'

Chris, "Scott Joplin & George Gershwin - The Entertainer" came up pretty quick using "Scott Joplin" on Limewire.

The old favourite of the BBC's theme is one you've thought of but how about the version by 147 Lockdown; iss kinda funky if a bit cheesy, http://www.diffusiononline.net/tvthemes.htm has an mp3 snippit when played on Chris Moyles' show to FBS.

http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/paulgreat...mation_of_a_2/ gives a list that maybe's just colour inspired.

Maybe Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire" if you've got some pyrotechnics planned!

I always think that The Ones', "Flawless" playing while Ronnie got his 5/20 147 was so apt.... immediately think of that break when I hear that track.

Silly ones if there's no volume involved...

        1 Simply The Rest
        2 Pocket Man
        3 I Pot The Sheriff
4 Cue To Me Are Everything
5 Sitting On The Dock Of The Baize
        6 I Don't Wanna Chalk About It
7 The Red's Too Big Without You
        8 You'll Never Baulk Alone
9 Plant Get Used To Losing You
10 Pool If You Think It's Over

        Don't go near Ebbo's "I'm a clown"!!!!

There was the "Romford Rap" that using http://www.brainwashed.com/vvm/relea...t/vvmt147b.htm gives some opportunities for "right Click, save target as...". (not tested those downloads yet tho)

Maybe some Paul Newman, Hustler toons could be adapted?

one last thing Chrs; can you ask Ian something that when I was told (and then repeated to several mates) made all of us drop our jaw a little..... a guy told me that if he doesn't get a century on his exhibition nights, that he doesn't charge a fee!! There are some rubbish tables out there and I'll have even more respect for the man... having said that, it won't stopping him from being a top player and a top bloke eitherway.

I wonder if Pro Exhibition nights could be a fertile thread? Draw up a list of players that provide this excellent service and reviews too? Does Ian have a management team that we could post up some details Chris, web address, cost etc? *

Would you let us know how the night goes, pics etc? (Moon on a stick do I hear!!!! )

          Hey Mr. reverse_side!

I've just listened to the Romford Rap. Made me burst out laughing.

I wonder if you could provide me with the lyrics. I couldn't find anything on google but it seems that you can make anything happen.

Hey Girl (superstar DJ) I's just thinking of you*; a GSC link to the no.1 in a land that says, "from the hills to the spas".. then to the snooker clubs.

            no pressure then!

I'm on a mission, nothing yet but apart from writing it down myself... !... we'll get there.

Listening to it now; "whether you're a jock or a jap" would have the PC brigade up in arms.... sound quality's a bit Dalek-esque or is it me at the mo, slightly nasally with the end of a damn cold.

http://tinyurl.com/gzmt5has someone on the same wavelength as you.

someone else might have some success too, till then; Dave.

            * I was at a job interview yesterday (lasted 2 hrs instead of 1!) and on the way down to showing me out, I had a vision, a flash of my (female) interviewer and the name of a small village nearby, so I mentioned that I like walking over there with my partner.... and she said she liked jogging over there. I've never seen a single jogger over there so maybe that's a good sign my psychic abilities working again!)

I've just made a thread about this. Reverse, why don't we work collaboratively on it?
