    We certainly play the Miss rule in our local league, even though we don't have any really good players - the standard of play is distinctly mediocre.

        I think the miss rule is part of the game and should always be applied, it just needs to be applied correctly with the players ability taken into account.

        we play the miss rule in our local league, most of the time the player will call a miss on themselves if they know it wasnt their best attempt to hit a ball on but one played with saftey in mind.
        if we didnt use the miss rule it would be easy for even mediocore players to take advantage of it in certian situations.
