Drinks at my club aren't bad either. £1.50 for a pint of coke. Over £1 cheaper than in town (coke seems to be more expensive than beer in towns these days)

wish there were a few clubs like that here .
How do the owners cope ?
The thing is that it isn't a snooker club per se. It actually is a RSL (Returned and Services League) club. Their main mode of operation is to serve drinks and have people gamble on the poker machines. Most RSL clubs do have a few tables, but they are slowly disapperaing now.

Soft drinks like coke are much higher profit for the clubs than beer. There's a huge mark up on coke.
So drink more coke and keep your local club open!
