How Can You Get Sponsered Within Snooker?

Many of our players at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club, near Southampton, are sponsored.

First: do you have any family or friends who have their own business? Most people are happy to fork out £200 or £300, which they can offset against tax, to have their logo on a player’s waistcoat and a mention in the local paper?

Second: or write a short CV saying who you are, what you have done and what you want to do. Enclose any newspaper cuttings or a photograph. Then post it to businesses near where you live. Places like car showrooms, building contractors etc. It’s best to pick firms which are run by one man rather than multi-nationals.

The worst they can say is "no". You may be pleasantly surprised.
