i play in Camberwell (jonos) now. It's not awe inspiring inside or out but they do take pride in the most important thing - the tables!

They have a few cues in the cabinet but nothing amazing from what i can remember.

jonos take pride in the tables? i dont think so. torn, old cloths? if jono wanted to he could easily replace all the tables if he wanted let alone the cloths. friday night parties with drunk girls fighting isnt fit for snooker either. though you have to get use to it and they do have a few decent players

Funny you should say that, its exactly what I told their Directors last year, they care more about poker than they do snooker/pool and is the reason why they recently had to be taken over (in a fudge deal!).

For a company as large as Rileys all I can say is get a grip on your core business or you will go bust permanently!

Sorry had to have a rant!

p.s.! I would love to run that company.... but those that make that decision haven't got the balls to make it happen!.

to be fair i'm usually there late into the early hours - maybe i've gotten used to the weekend shenanigans on the other side of the glass wall! A lot of the time we're there alone or with 2-3 other tables are occupied by regulars.

i do stand by my point about the tables/cloths though. the tables may be old but they are re-clothed fairly regularly and don't have the dodgy slopes, tired cushions, fag burns and round black stickers for spots found in other south london clubs.

the cloths there havent been re-clothed for years and years. and yes there are rips along the cushions. look at table one. theres a rip on the yellow pocket. look at table 3. the cloth on the cushion is stapled on. sorry but you only need to look at the cloth to know how worn out itis.

having had a look more recently i must agree with you about the tables mentioned! personally i never venture away from the middle tables which are fine.

You seem pretty familiar with the place. How often are you there? (if at all now)

I went to Robert Osbourne cues in Tooting, they are all sold out and will be for the foreseeable future. Are there any other cue-makers that you guys knows of?

I think I am only left with John Parris, although he seems very expensive and has an amusingly awful website https://www.parriscues.com/home.html

                          in london or what?
if you are looking for a workshop
u can always always head for craftsman, tony wilshaw.

craftsman cues are okay.. IMO. i have known ppl getting orders from them, and it can be a disappointment. i highly highly reccomend them. the people at craftsman are really nice and honest though. customer service is brilliant.

tony is very down to earth and very honest about his work. you can check him out in www.twcues.co.uk the problem is that he doesnt answer emails quickly. so try calling him

for cheaper, really quality cues. i highly reccomend mastercraft. and mike wooldridge sharks.

                            hi,

                            In London yep
Just took a look at that website and its very expensive.

I would want to pick up a few cues for weight etc for buying and so don't want to order online

Basically I want a decent cue <£200 in or very near london, that I can try out first

I see mastercraft are in Shrewsbury...
Where is mike wooldridge sharks based? i can't see from his website

mike's shark series are 160pounds, so its a budget cue if u get the standard size.
u can email mike about enquiry
hes very friendly. he wont bite
