My family is thinking to open first snooker club in Serbia by the end of 2010. We have decided to popularize snooker as a sport I am planning to finish some coaching course and to become only snooker coach in country. Now,about club I have some questions. How much would cost 4 riley aristocrat tables? Is there any supplier who can provide some decent quality club cues? We were also thinking to make some invitational tournament. What do you think are there any top 32 players willing to play in Serbia? Any ideas are welcome
    Thanks
    Marko
You cannot improve your game if you don't have a cue and snooker table

Good start. I used to work in Serbia - just before NATO started bombing it - and it was the friendliest county I've ever visited.

Is there any snooker on TV is Serbia? (you can watch Eurosport I suppose) Any Serbian players? Where will the club be?

What would be the quality of the customers? If you're going for top quality tables you'd need people who will respect them. Bear in mind that the most important component of a match table will be the cloth - and that will have to be replaced very very often if the table is in heavy use. I suppose I'm saying that for regular club tables, the expense of an aristocrat is only worth it if you want to pay for and maintain match conditions. Personally I'd have one match table and three very good ones.

Tournament - maybe hold one for local players and get a couple of pros over for an exhibition and coaching weekend. Affordable and helps your local players to be involved.

    But good luck

We are still very friendly people
Yes we can watch snooker on Eurosport and it is quite popular here.

Currently there is only one snooker table in Belgrade and there is one more in Novi Sad. So we have 8 million people and 2 snooker tables in whole country.... IMHO that's not enough There is maybe 10 players in Belgrade.. But I am not sure. From January 2010 we are going to have first snooker league in 10 or so years. People will respect those tables I am sure. I am interested in Aristocrat table as I would love to practice really hard and to try PIOS in let's say 4-5 years. Maintenance of the table is essential thing for successful club I think, and depending on the use of the tables I was thinking to change cloth on every 2-6 months...

About tournaments. Well for the first snooker event in Serbia I was thinking to make some really really exclusive exhibition match. If that goes well, then I was thinking to invite some of the top coaches on something like coaching weekend or something like that... But this is already 3 year plan and it is going to be really hard to achieve all that...
