Hi ,
i want to know the cue tips used by top pros.
Ive used talisman tips before as they hold there shape v well. Always find blue diamond to lose shape to quickly but they are much easier to shape than talisman. Never used Elk master. Are they good ?

Ive just bought a gravity cue and I believe it has an Elk tip o it so i'l see how it goes. Are they easy to shape ? I use a well rounded tip, takes forever to get it right with talisman !

The thing with a talisman is when you get it right it holds its shape very well. Whereas an elk will flatten and require reshaping. Personally I use an elk though. I wouldn't use blue diamond these days as they are not very good. Its all down to personal preference.

just had my 1st game with the gravity cue and the elk tip. Very impressed with the cue , not sure about the tip yet although was getting some crackin spin off it ! yahoo !
Ronnie was too.
I didn't take to them really might give them ago again or another laminated tip. What are the red ones???? Someone on here I think Mellow Yellow said they were good.
Mellow sent me a buffalo diamond which are similar to blue diamonds of old. It was good but it didn't last long. I hate to change tips.
I've been using Elks again for a bit. We have a box between the team I play for. We can pick out the ones we like that way. I think it was Trevs1 who put that idea in my head.
I bought a set of Mike Wooldridge laminated supertips and found them really excellent but then I do prefer playing with a hard tip anyway. Found no probs with them holding chalk and a good feel on the strike. I also believe Mark Williams uses a laminated tip these days because in a certain tournament (can't remember which one sorry) he was having a problem with one and it was coming apart, the cue doctor on the tournament had to remove several layers to make it good again if I recall correctly.
You never really learn to swear until you miss an easy shot halfway through a break.:snooker:
