    Hmmm

Dont forget. Steve James made a 16 'red' clearance of 135 against Higgins at the crucible in 1990

Tony Drago's 16 red clearance of 149 was made in practice in 1995 at Norwood snooker centre, against Nick Mnning.

I've been playing the game nearly 30 years and have only ever had 3 chances at a 155 (Strangely enough 2 occurred in one session). The opportunity occurs so rarely however that we may never see it. Having said that, the quality of the top pro's allows that should the circumstance occur the probability of them making a total clearance is much higher than any other group of people/players. The weirdness of the world is such that now it's been discussed on this forum the chance will probably present itself to someone in this very tournament!
I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.

Nothing is forever but in fairness this will probably only happen a long time after our life...

People say things ain't impossible but in the reality world alot of things are 99.9 not achievable.

I think it's ridiculous to say that nobody will ever make a break above 148 in competition.

It may never happen, but the question isn't all that different from a few years ago asking if anyone would ever exceed a 147. "Probably not" might be a fair enough answer but "No, never" is a bit final!

Alan, I think our late friend John Posner may be in the record books for refereeing the highest recorded break - 151.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say on it:

A 151 is reported to have been compiled by Wally West against Butch Rogers in West London's Hounslow Luciana snooker club during a club match in 1976. After Rogers fouled, Wally took the green as his free ball followed by the brown. He then took 14 red and blacks and a pink off the last red. He then cleared up to make the 151

Whoever does do it will hope that they geta better reward than Jamie Burnett
did.All he got was £500 and some free train tickets to go to a tournament he didnt qualify for.I am pretty sure he refused the tickets and who would blame him!!!!!!
