  • Practicing on smaller table?

I know this may seem daft but would putting one of these in my bedroom actually make me get used to the feeling and stuff more or is this just going to be a waste of time?

I really just want a snooker table would a 4ft x2ft or a 6ft by 4ft be okay to just play on?

    Here is a 6ft by 3ft : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Snooker-Table-...item27ae0a8b65

Would putting that in my room and practice help me?

Personally I think that your 'full-size game' would suffer if you were to buy a table such as the one that you've shown.
After playing on one of these tables, a full size table will look even bigger than it really is, and your confidence will be affected.
ALso, because the balls are a different size and weight, you won't benefit by getting a feel for the balls, as you put it. If anything, you'll lose the feel for the full size balls.
These tables are fine for a child starting out, who has never played on a full size table, but other than that they won't be of any use (and perhaps would be detrimental).

So would it not learn me the correct angles of potting balls and position of cueball?

It may help you aim but you cannot easily transfer positional play from a small table to a full size table since (as mentioned by another poster) the balls are different, the speed of the tables differ, etc.

IMO there is no substitute for a full size table.

It would help you to practise your cue action, but then so would an ironing board in front of a mirror!

I Remember practicing on a little table every night when I was a kid, it was like 4 foot long, and the balls were like maltesers. But for me, it was great practice, going on to a full size though took a bit of getting used to, the balls seemed so heavy to hit. Apart from that I think it was good practice

Alright thanks... it is just I was thinking of getting to hit balls whenever I want to... I don't have space for full size or the money.
