Using your own balls

The pros outweigh the cons. Playing with your own set you can look after them, polish them when needed, they are all the same weight and size etc, just makes the game more pleasureable.
The only real downside is having to carry them around, they aren't light or easy to transport around and you might look like a bit of a **** with your own set of balls but I am anyway so I don't care!!!

Own balls!
I use my own set of Aramith Tournament Championship as they are the best. Aramith Premier are a complete waste of time as they are far too light!
In terms of polishing, Basically i don't bother anymore as its a waste of time also. I was once advised to polish the set with Mr Sheen except the cueball which was cleaned with Aramith Ball Cleaner. Well the Pro's don't play with polished sets. They are brand new sets fresh out of the box which are not polished! So whats the point? Correct me if i'm wrong but when you polish your balls, its not long before they become tacky and greasy again. Well this is because the polish will always leave a very thin film on the balls, and when handled we just redistribute it all over the ball making it sticky to the touch.
The ONLY solution to this is to De-grease your entire sets in warm water and cleaning them using wait for it...Cif lemon. Bizarrly it smells remarkably like Aramith ball cleaner too! Then simply rinse them and dry them with a clean towel(NOT A DUSTER). You will find that they stay cleaner for longer and will never become sticky. I usually find that they are good for weeks until i feel the need to clean them again and this is probably more to do with my OCD than anything else!!!:snooker: :snooker: :snooker:Cheap and Cheerful! 😄

using your own snooker balls
if using your own balls would make you a better snooker player then everyone would have stumbled across this at some point. i mean i use my own balls that i've had for ten years. no real reason for buying them they were just cheap at the time, but i do think that the balls you use at the snooker halls are slightly unballanced and therefore could cost you more misses than you anticipate, and also i feel you get a lot less kicks from the aramiths than the usual balls. so all in all they don't make that much of a difference probably more phycological, just like the game is - phycological, don't you just love to hate it!!
