As I said in the other thread... When your tip wears down too close to the ferrule, then change it or you could damage the white and your cue.
      Or if it falls off
Or if you've decided you don't like it, or you think it's gone hard
      Or your bored

Paraphrasing a well known quote, i would say:

Being in the need for a new cue tip is just like being in love. No one can tell you you're in love, you just know it. Through and through. Balls to bones.

I usually retip my cue when I don't have a better excuse for playing poorly.

I tend to take mine off when its quite worn down but its mainly because its gone too hard. I think you will instinctively know when its the right time to change.

                  I like that.
If you think it needs changing change it. Just don't let it wear too close to the ferrule or you will damage the white.

If its flat shape is with a piece of sandpaper like when you put the tip on originally. If it has just gone shiny but held its shape just rough it up a little. If its too hard even when you rough it up then replace it. It's all a personal thing, you'll know when you want to replace your tip... And it sounds like it might be now

Then change it! Does not take a brain surgeon to know when the tip wants changing.
Or are you just trying to get us going? lol
