what cue is stephen hendry using?

just noticed his cue is only 17 oz - dont know why but i imagined pros would be using heavier than that - (i have real problem with anything less than 18)

When Terry Griffiths was playing the cue he used all his life was only 15oz..i think the pros today wouldent need a heavy cue because the conditions in wich the play shouldent require them to use a heavy cue. because the balls,cloth,cushions ect are all the best..In saying that Jimmy whites cue is 19oz.

Ive got an old E. Diggle cue that weighs 15 1/4 oz - cannot imagine playing with it - almost floats out your hand

27 mm butt ? that must be pretty unusual ?

27mm is unusual but I think it stems from the Old Powerglide Connoisseur he used for years, the taper on these are slimmer than normal through the whole cue butt to tip ...so probably what he's got used to.

Another reason he used the Accurate cue i think as these also have a slim taper through the bridge hand.

As with all cue specs though all about what feels right....size of hands comes into play more with butt diameter......no right or wrong to this really just finding what suits, which will be different for all of us.

Smallest i've tryed is 28mm which was ok.........not unusual for young kids to go smaller & probably a good idea, did this with my son's cue & it worked a treat

I put some lead tape around that butters cue, its now 17.2oz. Hoping to try it out tomorrow
