When Terry Griffiths was playing the cue he used all his life was only 15oz..i think the pros today wouldent need a heavy cue because the conditions in wich the play shouldent require them to use a heavy cue. because the balls, cloth, cushions ect are all the best..In saying that Jimmy whites cue is 19oz.Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

27mm is unusual but I think it stems from the Old Powerglide Connoisseur he used for years, the taper on these are slimmer than normal through the whole cue butt to tip ...so probably what he's got used to.
Another reason he used the Accurate cue i think as these also have a slim taper through the bridge hand.
As with all cue specs though all about what feels right....size of hands comes into play more with butt diameter......no right or wrong to this really just finding what suits, which will be different for all of us.
Smallest i've tryed is 28mm which was ok.........not unusual for young kids to go smaller & probably a good idea, did this with my son's cue & it worked a treatLast edited by CueAntW147; 4 February 2010, 12:56 AM.
