Why did Ronnie O Sullivan deliberately lose his match in CHina open?

No professional players would play that black like that when 3-4 down in a best of 9 match.
He also had quite many reckless shots, which he would not normally go for them.
Just showed how much he does not care about this tournament.
But public in CHina loves him, its a disrespect to the public.

Because he is the best player on earth, is the world #1, the biggest draw in the sport, and has business interests in China...
he has the honour of having to travel to the other side of the globe to go to work whether he likes it or not.
He cannot call in sick even though he is.
Sick of always having to be the best.
Sick of having to try and get it up to play someone like Tian Pengfei who isn't remotely in his league.
Sick of having to travel to what he likely sees as a distraction from his World Championship preparation.
Sick from jetlag.
Sick from distasteful food.
Sick from not getting any sleep.
Homesick.
Sick from forgetting to take his meds.
Who knows?
But he really didn't "lose". Well, OK, he lost a battle. However, at his level of influence in our sport,
losing to a young Chinese rising star grows snooker there BIG TIME.
It increases the size of the pie. I don't imagine Barry Hearn would be displeased at all.
Maybe that's the bottom line.
=o)

Thats Right he has so many Fans over there its Unreal to do that?
He does not have any Respect for the Game! Nor his Fans etc.
Like I said I never had a Penny on Him, But I just Love watching him as he is Great to Watch and Brilliant for the Game when he has the Right Head on Which isn't Very Often.
I dont Think Ronnie will be around in another Year or two, But I said last year he will Pack in Snooker within 5 Years.....
I think it will be alot sooner now!.....1 or 2 Years!
( MAYBE HE HAD A MASSIVE BACK HANDER OVER THERE!....AS 90% OF HIS SHOTS TODAY WE UNREAL REALLY )Last edited by gazza147; 31 March 2010, 02:50 PM.

Ronnie is a genius....fact! and like has been said many times there is a very fine line between geius and insanity.
I totally agree with the guys on here about it being disrespectful to the people of China in particular and the rest of the snookering world in general with what he has just done today. S what if he doesn't like events in China? (remember the incident with his filthy remarks to the young female Chinese lady reporter before)?
I for one love watching Ronnie, he is, as I said at the top of this, a genius. But come on Ronnie there are millions of us worldwide who would love to have been blessed with your talent and be earning the money you do because of it. Get your head together and at least respect the people who pay your wages!!!!
Congratulations to Tian Pengfei tho'. He played well did the lad and in no way is to blame in any of this.
Roll on the Worlds......hopefully Worzel O'Sullivan will turn up with his proper snookering head on!!!!!!

That Game won't Give Tian any Confidence?
He knows Ronnie Played around and didn't play 50% of what he Can! If somebody Played me like that I wouldn't feel Good after it.
Ronnie should still have Won that Match had Chances after Chances!!....Terrible Match and Tian didn't Play Well at all if anything he Missed more Easy Balls than Ronnie!
Watch the Game back and you will see I am right...I have just watched it and watched and Still Cannot Beleive the Match!
I really do hope Tian can go alot Further in front of his own crowd, But too be Honest Ronnie is a Bigger Name than Him over there!

sorry for my ignorance, but is this the shot?

if so, i don't think it was deliberate. I did not see the match, but at 39 seconds he's mumbling something to himself in dissapointment.
