As he won in Sanghai earlier on this season, I thought he'd overcome his Chinese-complex. That was definetly a wrong assumption. Today he played like a mighty beginner. His shot selection, the amount of easy balls he missed, his mimic, everything was just too bad. I'd've never thought it possible a pro would miss a yellow of it's spot with ball in hand and a straight black in 5 minutes match-time. Even if he didn't lose 'deliberately', he sure wasn't giving his best in this match. This I find very disrespectable to Tian (who played quite cool) and the crowd (who paid for this farce). I hope -should we ever be able to establish a MT event here in Germany- Ros won't turn up like that
Ten reds and not a colour...

Well, we all know what Ronnie is like. But why is he so disrespectful. He is full of S---E all the time. He is always looking for pity. He makes me sick with the amount of claptrap he comes out with. He is a bloody disgrace to the game.

Any other player would be fully investigated, punished , fined and banned. But not Ronnie, there are different rules for him because of his mental state and because he is the only player that fills the halls with paying customers. The media love him because of the outrageous stuff he does and comes out with. If he got banned and was not in any tournies for a year, i doubt a single sponsor would bother with the rest. Shame but true.

At the end of the day, he and world snooker got what they wanted. Plenty of media coverage, whether controversial or not, they just want the coverage. But they could do without this type of attention, saying that Ronnie threw it on purpose. Although, it looks like he did.

They other good thing was, he threw it against a chinese player. At least thats better than just throwing it against say someone like Nigel Bond. What do you do with an idiot like him. Snooker will suffer without him but it will suffer just as much with him!

Its just not that he missed but also the way he played it , ive never seen a player play a game ball shot like that dead weight with slow drag .

                        And you clearly don't.

Why can't we all just take O'Sullivan's Good with his Bad with his Ugly?
He's Ronnie. Period. And leave it at that.
Do you think it would be "better for snooker" if Alex stopped drinking and swearing and being rude?
These guys are twisted, unfathomable geniuses.
To expect Ronnie to be "normal" just confirms you don't know what Ronnie is really like at all.

Because his plane was leaving in 2 hours time and it takes him 1 and half hours to get to the airport and check in. If he had to play another frame he might of missed his flight.

i do agree with you on that point, play it a bit harder and the black will more than likely end up safe. i am still a novice so i dont have complete understanding of the game. but why miss a shot in such a way that it will generate this much criticism?

It just looked like a big long two piece backswing and a touch of deceleration to me. Never crossed his mind he'd miss it and possibly changed his mind on the shot.

Oh by the way whilst his talent is unquestioned any chance of not posting rubbish like fine line between genius and insanity etc etc.

He's not a genius he's a very good snooker player and he's not insane he's a spoilt baw sac.

That said he's about the only one I watch now.

Yeh, we do know what Ronnie is like. He definately has mental problems. Not to be rude to the man, he suffers severe depression, ocd, nervous anxiety, stress related problems, you name it he's got it. Why do you think he is on the meds. Beta blockers and others. He is obviously not a well man, and this is what makes him what he is. Not the fact that he is bordering on the genius. He aint no Stephen Hawkins or Albert einstein, he is Ronnie O Sullivan a snooker player.

What he has is a brilliant talent, like Tiger Woods etc. I know he cannot help himself, as anybody with these sorts of problems will know. Just getting out of bed everyday can be a struggle, so what Ronnie does in front of an arena, is really brilliant.

But at the end of the day, he can sometimes control himself, and he should show more respect for his fans, the paying public and all the people that support him. We all love to watch Ronnie, we all like his antics, he's entertaining when he is off on one and quite amusing. But to be disrespectful and bad mannered is another matter. In China especially where there culture is not used to people like Ronnie.

Its lucky in a way Ronnie is not Chinese. As they have the highest record in the world for executing their citizens, and not just for minor offences. Something like deliberateley losing would most probably warrant, corrrrrrr at least 20 years in prison i should think. At the worst, possibly the death penalty. Now, thats why you will not see any chinese players act like Ronnie.
