the whole match made me suspicious of behind the scenes betting.big money in it and it does happen.

Look...
we can all, once again, scream shout and cry about what is to be done with naughty little Ronnie but when he wants to he's the most gifted this game has ever seen FACT (please note i did not say best/greatest)
tv and venue audiences increase when ronnie is playing and this is good for the game FACT
My mum... who does not know how much points a black ball is worth, knows who Ronnie O'Sulivan is FACT (though she doesn't like him very much)
Personally I don't care whether he missed on purpose, i dont care if he playes alternate shots left handed or if he start using his feet to take shots I doubt very much if Tian Pengfei is concerned and im sure Barry Hearn is looking forward to a bit of media coverage on the whole thing.
If you put money on Ronnie, or pay to watch him at a tournament and you're suprised and upset when this type of thing happens then where have you been the last 15 years?
he is, as a rule , about 4/1 to win every tournament and this is based on the fact that there is always a risk he will go potty (no pun intended) at some point, if the lad had John Higgins will to win he'd be even money every time.
For me the only people who should feel hard done to are the likes of jamie cope, liang wenbo and graeme dott who might miss out on top 16 as Mark king once again inexplicabley gathers enough ranking points to hold on to the elite, and even they are victims of luck of the draw and Ronnie is not responsible for that.
I think Ronnie is a cock but he's been one for years and until he is completely sick of the game that made him richer than people with his IQ would normally ever dream to be and kept him out of prison or until they carry him off in a jumper with wrap around sleeves he will still be a cock.
these things are part and parcel of his game, like Drago's rest play, Ebdon's gamesmanship, and Kings abilty to be rubbish all season and still be top 16 every year. We dont like these things but thats the way it is.
rant over,
i will repost this umongst the aftermath when he concedes the world final leading 17-0 against a traumatised Ding Junhui... all because he missed a 147 chance on his 9th black.Fantasy Game Overall Winner 09/10 - World Championship 2009 Fantasy Game Winner - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Overall Winner 09/10 - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Runner-Up 08/09 - UK Championship 2010 Prediction Contest Winner - Rileys @ Chorlton Pool Team Merit Winner 07/08, 09/10:snooker:

just watched missed shot and press conference he did not miss it on purpose he just played a bad shot. I am afraid to all people from the land of china it just seems ronnie does not like being there his heart is not in it when he goes to china. I would say if he could skip going to china he wou;ld not go. And again it seems we have pockets that are thighter than the normal even ronnie said the pockets were tighter than normal , Barry Hearn will you please sort out the pocket situation and make all pockets the same template and pockets we can see players play their best game on. not pockets that are too thight like china.
I played in the european championships in romania about 3 years ago and they were tables from china and they were the tightest pockets i ever played on. If i was ronnie I would be ****ed off too going all around the world to a place i did not like to play snooker on tables that are not up to scratch come on home ronnie enjoy the easter back in england get your head together and win the world title for us thats if ken doherty dont. love you ronnie you just please your self dont mind what 100 million chinese think or is it 100 billion. you just please your self ronnie come on home my son. oh yeah and just incase you take me up wrong I love china some of my best friends are chinese.

Oh dear Ronnie what goes on in your head!!........ I knew Ronnie as a junior ..... what has happened.
I definitly don't think he missed the black on purpose but i do know that if you set the same shot up and said your life depends on potting this theres no way he would play it like that.New Zealands biggest snooker fan

I would forgive Ronnie if he didn't care and went out just to enjoy a few frames of snooker. But judged from the way he played, he did care about the result. He went out to make sure he would lose it. Even before he played that last shot I knew for sure he would miss it. So did the TV commentator here in HK, who just couldn't help to say that nothing is for sure unless all the balls are in the pockets. And he was damn right. After the match, he went so far as to claim that Ronnie deliberately lose the match, a very uncommon but honest comment made by a TV commentator during a live broadcast.

I spent a few hours watching the match live on TV and I felt being cheated like a lunatic. This match really left me a very bad impression about the sport and I really don't want to see him play again here in China.
If he doesn't want to come, just don't come. He is going to damage the sport.

It certainly was not deliberate. It was a mistimed, badly executed shot. It happens and Ronnie had been ucharachteristically error prone for the whole match; this was only the final mistake. Had he wanted to throw the match he had ample opportunity to do so in a less obvious way: only in the last few shots he could have missed the long brown, or lost position on any of the blue, pink or black...

You know what, the Chinese audience were so angry and somebody cried out "Go home, Ronnie, you mum has made dinner for you".

That looked well crooked to me.
