I wouldn't say Tian played terrible, especially not for an amateur. There were two frames where he found himself 60 points behind, and needing a clearance to win on the black, and he made two flawless one-visit breaks. It was only in the last frame where he threw a couple of chances away. He could have been forgiven for being a bit frightened, considering he was playing an opponent of O'Sullivan's reputation, but it didn't seem like it got to him at all. Now compare that with how Jamie Cope played against O'Sullivan in the Welsh Open, and Cope is hardly an amateur.

An another thing to remember, Tian was actually ahead when O'Sullivan missed that black. It's not as if O'Sullivan had the match won had he potted it.

He had the same flight schedule as me, it was booked in advance. Originally, we were trying to book Apr 1 but all the flights were full on that day, so we booked Apr 2 together."


Thereafter, Zhang Anda revealed an important detail "When O'Sullivan was tied with Da Fei (Tian Pengfei's nickname) at 2:2, he bumped into me (during the intermission), he told me to hurry up and pack my bags and head back to England with him. Apparently, at that time, he still didn't know (i assume he means "forgot") that the flight on Apr 1 was full."

So according to Sina, based on this interview, it indicates that O'Sullivan was already thinking of losing the match and heading home when the score was 2:2.

And April 1, that's Thursday. Ronnie's match was on Wednesday, 31 March. Or time difference between Europe & China would have made that flight before his possible R2 match anyway?

Ronnie has lost against King quite a lot so maybe didn't want that to happen again so I think losing to Tian was abetter option for him. No doubt that black was missed purposely and now there is evidence to back it up. World Snooker have to punish this,if they don't the sport's credibility is gone forever.

That is right,he could have missed the pink but as the score was 57-57 Tian would have needed the black as well as the pink. The worst scenario for Ronnie would have then been Tian potting the pink and then leaving the black over the pocket. Ronnie beat him to it.
