I have heard most pros use light cues because clothes are fast these days. But surely if clothe is fast, a heavier cue will be more stable and easier to control than a lighter cue, right?

the weight of a cue is not that important it comes under the same heading as how long how straight etc - as long as the cue will do the same thing every time it does not matter.

Jimmy whites cue i heard is approx 19-20oz...while hendrys is only 17oz, so i dont think its anything to do with weight , its what is comfortable for you, but a good theory anyway..... But be aware that overanalysing can have a detramental affect on a individuals game too... Sometimes its best to just get on and enjoy the game , slowly but surely with a sound technique improvemet will come....HAPPY POTTING!!!I can see the table, but lost my ....ive lost my balls

When Joe Davis was at his best, he used a 16.5oz cue. Or so he said at the time.
