At the beginning of the season when Selt qualified for Shanghai GP commentary was mentioning Selt has been practicing with Ronnie (but then it's mr.sinitisin ultra reliable commentary ).
And earlier it was said Carter had been practicing with Ronnie.
Seems it's about the location where they live, aren't they all based in Essex?

Also Higgins & Maguire recently opened a club in Glasgow together. And Dott is maybe somewhere nearby. And then there were those Higgins suggestions to Hendry to go for some match practice, not only solo practice..

edit: didn't update the thread before posting.

      edit: thanks ballrun

There was an article by Pettman on prosnookerblog about his practice with Harold, not too long ago.

I'm having a game with Martin Gould tomorrow at his club in North Harrow. I have always tried to play better players as it is without doubt the best way to improve.

Higgins used to pick the balls out for Hendry, Maguire picked the balls out for Higgins...

Ronnie used to pick balls out for Ken, and now Selt and Carter and others have picked them out for Ronnie.

If you can get into the mindset of playing against this quality in practice, then you're more likely to be able to deal with it in match situations.

I'll more than likely be re-spotting a lot of balls tomorrow but I guarantee it will benefit me in the long-run.

Playing someone differnt all the time no matter how good they are can help too, because every player has a differnt mindset. But it's also good to help improve the young lads, because the better they get, the better you have to get to stay ahead of them.

I've been playing Anthony Hamilton at the Walthamstow club. I reallly enjoy it, at the beginning I was picking out a lot of balls from the pockets but lately I have been managing to get 5 or 6 frames. I get a lot out of it, it makes me feel more confident, and he's always got lots of tips and experience.

Boy, am I jealous of some of you being able to play and practice with such good opposition.

I mostly practice by myself every day and only get opposition in our bi-weekly ranking tournaments or some of the invitiationals and as I live in the country it's hard to try and get some of the better players out here for practice even though I have a very good match table with templated pockets.

And then saying that, there aren't really any players here in Canada that are as good as some of the players available to you with perhaps the possible exception of Alain Robidoux who seems to be playing really well these days, but unfortunately Montreal is a 7-hour drive away

My mate used to work in Ian McCulloch's club in Preston and a few players used to come up and play him.
My mate loved it he got to play with the likes of Mark Selby.

                      Matt,

I hear you played very well in the champion of champions against my mate last week . He was on top form , so i assume you've been playing . Have you been playing any top players lately ? I think you played my mate the previous year as well . He said that you were a totally different player this year and in his words ' you went to town on him ' . Good luck for your next match.
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

Ryan , he is my favourite player . How is he playing at the moment ? He has never really got back to his best since he broke his wrist years ago [in my opinion]. That's why i started to follow his results as i seem to recall that he dropped out of the top 16 because of it and at the time he was playing well . Great century break maker . Really want to see him get back to his best .
He deserves a decent break [ no pun intended ] and good run in a few tournaments . Wish him all the best for next season .

I would also like to Live in a Area where there is Plenty of Clubs and Good Practise Partners!

Where I Live there isn't a Club for 50 Miles....Closest is Terry's in Llanelli....But Now I have Children its a Different Story as Cannot get the Time to go there.

I know Michael White, Jamie Jones, Daniel Wells, Darren Morgan etc etc as they used to Play in same Tourny's as me Near Swansea and I know them Very Well.

I cannot Wait to Get Extension Done for my Own Snooker Room which will be Top of the Range I hope.

                          Gaz.

Hi Terry: You will probably be able to say, I am a big fan of some of the
local players I am just wondering how they would compare over in England
guys like Phil Snache, Vito Puopolo, and Ziegler[ I know that Floyd won
the Canadians a couple years ago} I particularily like how Phil plays and
I always wonder how his skill level would match up over in England.
                            Thanks in advance.
